Just thought I'd make this journal feature useful and post my commission information just in case anyone is ever interested.
"How do I contact you?"
The most important thing to know is my e-mail is thebadgergrymm@gmail.com. Never hesitate to contact me if you have a question. I do also check the private messages or notes that come in on my individual gallery so if you'd like you can send me one of those!
"What exactly am I getting here Grymm?":
Well that depends on what you want!
-Traditional media pieces do get mailed to the commissioner, something for you to hold, display, or what have you. But I will ask you include a few extra dollars for shipping. I pack art up to insure protection against bending and the elements and send it near and far to you. Thus I ask that commissioners within the US include an additional $3 for shipping and non-US commissioners include $5 shipping to cover the packing and shipping charges.
-If ordering a digital color piece, you can request for me to send the hardcopy of the inked linework (I do traditional inking even for digital color pieces) and a high quality, high resolution 8.5 x 12 print to you for a small additional charge (Usually about $10). Otherwise you'll receive the full size, high quality jpeg file of the finished piece in your email inbox.
"Grymm, what sizes to you work in?"
I can work in just about any size, but the standard is 9" x 12". I can go smaller, I can go larger, all you need to do is ask and I can give you a price quote! Or you can go with one of the selections below!

"Grymm! You seem to have a number of comic page samples in your gallery! Is it possible for me to commission one or more comic pages from you?"
-Why yes! Yes it is, good citizen! I am, at heart, a comic artist in many ways and revel in the idea of someone commissioning me to work my sequential magic. But its pricey as I do it all myself; layout, paneling, pencilling, inking, coloring, lettering, all of it. Price is also dependent on content of the script provided. So if you're interested in getting a comic page done, by all means, feel free to contact me and we'll discuss details of just what you'd like to get done.
I can tell you right out the gate though that I work on large, 11 x 17 and pricing of a page rarely drops lower than $50. Again, depends on what you want.
Basically a cleaned up and shaded all graphite page is going to run at least $50.
A black and ink page will run at least $75.
And full digital color will run at least $100.
Note that these prices reflect detailed panels. Actual backgrounds and such. Addition of cityscapes, tons or characters, or lots of vehicles will tend to raise the base price as such things are complicated and take more time to draw.
"So what's the process here Grymm? What steps are taken to get a commission off the ground? What forms of payment do you accept?"
-First, contact me. Tell what you'd like to get. I need to know how many characters are involved, what you want happening, if you want color, if you want traditional or digital media, if you want a fully detailed background, the whole shebang. Otherwise I can't give you a proper price quote.
Once I know what you want, I can give you a price quote. From there its just a matter of getting payment to me so I can start things rolling! I prefer Paypal, but I also accept checks and money orders by good ol' classic snail mail as well.
You will be e-mailed progress sketches as they happen. You have the option of making any changes you wish to the sketch before I move onto the inks (if applicable). Make sure you specify what needs to be changed if changes are needed cause I'm not going to play around with making changes, sending the tweaked scan out, being told more changes are needed, and so on and so forth.
Once finished, copies of digital files get sent to a customer's email at full size and traditional pieces get tucked into a nest of sturdy cardboard and fired off into the postal system. In special cases where a commissioner can't pay entirely up front to begin with, the rest of the payment will be expected before they receive any final product. Otherwise I sit on the finished piece. If you suddenly fall off the face of the earth and my repeated attempts to contact you all fail, I'll take it as you not wanting the piece and auction it off to the highest bidder after 6 (SIX) months of not hearing back from you. Harsh, I know. But its not fair to keep me hanging.
"Is there anything else I should know?"
-Some original pieces are still floating around my archives and many are for sale. Your best bet is if you see something you fancy, drop me a line and see if its available for sale.
Pricing of original pieces varies depending on how complex the piece is and how old it is. To be honest, older pieces are going to be cheaper.
-Prints of almost all me works are available for purchase. They are unwatermarked, high quality, and printed on 8.5" x 11" matte paper.
All prints are $8. That includes shipping. That's shipping whether you live in the US, the UK, Canada, wherever art is needed!
Note: Many prints are no longer available due to loss of original files.
I think I've covered all my bases. If there's still something that's unclear, don't hesitate to contact me at thebadgergrymm@gmail.com
